MARLON LeBLANC
A former player with the Nittany Lions, Marlon LeBlanc is
entering his fifth season as an assistant coach with the varsity program.
LeBlanc graduated from Penn State in 2000 with a BA degree in economics.
A Hightstown High School four-year varsity starter, the
New Jersey native received All-Area, All-County and All-State honors during
his scholastic career. In addition to starring for his high school program,
LeBlanc was a New Jersey Olympic Development Program (ODP) Team captain and
Region I ODP standout. His club side, Jersey Shore Boca, captured the Under
17 New Jersey State Club Championship.
An in-demand distinguished clinician, LeBlanc serves as
the Assistant Director of the Penn State Soccer Camps. He holds the
National, Advanced National and Premier Coaching Diplomas from the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
LeBlanc is considered to be one of the rising young
college coaches and talented recruiters.
Coach LeBlanc’s duties as assistant soccer coach
include student athlete recruitment and monitoring NCAA and Big Ten
compliance paperwork. Additionally, he coordinates team travel and
accommodations in conjunction with Penn State’s travel services and business
departments.
During the 2002 season LeBlanc was pressed into
service as the team’s interim coach for seven games as Coach Gorman
recovered from surgery. He guided the team to a 4-3 record during Gorman’s
absence.
